Country Kitchen Accessories that bring your Kitchen to life

Kitchen DIY > Country Kitchen Accessories that bring your Kitchen to life

There are a lot of things that you can add to your kitchen that will make it look more modern and more up to date while still maintaining the country feel. Here are some of the main country kitchen accessories and elements:

  • Appliances
  • Worktops and splash backs

So, if you want to make your country kitchen look come alive you need to take each one of these important elements into consideration.
Appliances

These are some of the main country kitchen accessories that you need in your home:
Gas cookers have finally replaced the wood or charcoal burning stoves or ovens that were used years before. The modern version of gas cookers that would fit well with your other country kitchen accessories are range cookers with either matte black or sometimes stainless steel front, most of them even have brass details that adds to the antique look.
Stainless steel or brushed aluminum should be your number one choice for all your country kitchen accessories or country kitchen appliances – well at least the ones that you plan to put on display. For smaller country kitchen accessories and country kitchen appliances that you want to keep, you can hide them behind curtains.
There are really no specific rule with country kitchen accessories – including faucets and sinks. Of course you just need to stir away from shiny, chrome, or high gloss materials to make your kitchen seem a bit more antique.
Worktops and splash backs
This is one of the things that I truly think are part of country kitchen’s look. Actually when you       say country kitchen the thing that pops up in my mind are the pine wood floors and the handmade or hand painted tiles. So these splash backs and countertops or worktops, for me, are one of the absolute important elements of country kitchen accessories.
For splash backs you can spend a lot of money and get a big slab of marble and place it on your counter tops to add a posh look to your kitchen. However, the “posh-ness” of it may be too much to serve as country kitchen accessories. You can still however choose from a wide range of splash back designs that will match you country kitchen look.
A lot of materials are used to make countertops or worktops. Some of these materials include:
Stone: it ranges anywhere from slate, sometimes also known as limestone, to marble. You must remember that marble is a very sensitive material. It becomes sensitive to acids, it will be easily stained and it is not scratch proof so you will see cut marks. However what’s good about marbles is that it can easily blend with all those imperfections and at the end of the day it still looks very lovely.
Timber or wood: among all the types of wood that is used as countertops or worktops, I truly believe that oak is the one that would match all of your country kitchen accessories and will add to the classic country look of your kitchen.
There you have it – those are only 2 of the 8 elements that you should consider to achieve that classic country kitchen look.
