All About Kitchen Colour
Kitchen DIY > All About Kitchen ColourSome people are good at knowing what colours go well with other colours. I however am not one of those people. I used to be able to sit and look through hundreds of colour samples and still struggle to come up with a match. Obviously this wasted time could have been spent better and decided to do some research to give me a groundwork for picking colours for kitchens.
While the subject of colour wasn’t one that I thought so big its seems there is a lot more to it than I once thought. The science behind it is huge.(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color) I think the most important first factor would be room size. You will probably already know that dark colours make rooms looks smaller than light ones. If your kitchen is small then its best to go for a lighter colour. However, this doesn’t need to mean you worktops and doors need to be light, just the predominating colour in the room. If you have a lot of wall space then the colours of the walls will be most important. You can then use your worktops or kitchen doors to break up this colour with darker tones.
For instance light/black/light seems to be very common in designers kitchens. Over the coming weeks I plan to release some colour combinations to help you pick the right worktops. If you have ideas of your own and would like to share please email me the picture so I can add it to the site.
